Electric griddle: 11 tabletop and outdoor models compared

By Charles Neveu Updated on 07/10/2026 Analysed Editor's review

An electric griddle plugs into a socket: it is the plancha for the dining table, the flat's balcony and the terrace with no gas bottle. It cooks meat, fish and vegetables on a plate heated by an electric element, with a thermostat and a grease tray. Every type, gas included, is covered on our plancha grill page. Here I have gathered 11 electric griddles on sale on Amazon France, from a small tabletop model for 4 to the outdoor units from Krampouz, Forge Adour, Le Marquier and Little Balance, by way of Tefal, Lagrange and Riviera & Bar. I read their manufacturer pages and recorded their prices on 07/10/2026. Each one has its drawback spelled out.

Electric griddle with a stainless steel plate on a dining table, with courgettes, peppers, mushrooms, king prawns and strips of chicken cooking, a stainless steel spatula on the edge and the cord plugged in at the side

Electric griddle: our 3 recommendations

For everyday family meals, take the Tefal Malaga XL; for a balcony and a stainless steel plate, the Krampouz Samba electric; for a large table outdoors, the Little Balance Amplitude 60-40.

Tight budget for 6 to 8: Tefal Malaga XL CB501812 (45.49 euros on 07/10/2026). Its drawback first: Tefal's website only shows the CB503813 version, so our data on this model comes from the Amazon page alone, and the thermostat shows no temperature. Otherwise, it is a 51 x 25.5 cm, 2,000 W tabletop griddle with a non-stick coating and a plate that goes in the dishwasher once the power unit is removed.

For a balcony or small terrace: Krampouz Samba electric PFSB2AA (359.10 euros on 07/10/2026). The catch: an outdoor price for about 6 people, and a third-party seller (EZY Commerce) when we checked. In return, the 54 x 33 cm stainless steel plate carries a 10-year warranty, its two heating zones each go up to 300 °C, and IPX4 protection means it can stay outside during the meal. It is made in France.

For a large table outdoors: Little Balance Amplitude 60-40 (475.00 euros on 07/10/2026). Drawback: almost 24 kg according to Amazon, so it never leaves its outdoor table, and only 12 units were left when we checked. Its all-stainless 59 x 40 cm plate, 4 mm thick, serves 6 to 12 people according to Little Balance, with 3,000 W, two thermostats up to 300 °C and French manufacturing.

To go further, our comparison of the best electric griddle will rank these models profile by profile, with a summary table and a detailed review of each.

Why choose an electric griddle?

An electric griddle is chosen for its simplicity: one socket, no bottle, no flame, indoors as well as outdoors.

  • The advantages: it sits on the table in the middle of your guests, it is often the only option on a balcony where the building rules ban gas (Le Marquier presents its radiant technology as compliant with apartment building rules), it heats without combustion fumes, and a thermostat sets the temperature. Tabletop models fit in a cupboard.
  • The limits: less output than a gas griddle of the same size, so slower heat-up on large models, a power cord to run to the socket, and a suitable extension lead to plan outdoors. On tabletop models, the non-stick plate calls for wooden or silicone utensils.

Griddle cooking needs little or no added fat: cooking juices and grease run into the juice tray. It is a healthy way to cook, as long as the marinade does not burn.

Tabletop or outdoor electric griddle?

Electric griddles fall into two families: the tabletop griddle, light and non-stick, and the outdoor electric griddle, in stainless steel or enamelled cast iron, which looks like a gas plancha running on mains power.

The tabletop griddle

Tefal, Lagrange or Moulinex heat a non-stick aluminium plate with 1,800 to 2,300 W, with an adjustable thermostat, cool-touch handles and a removable grease tray. They serve from 4 people (Accessimo) to 12 (Tefal Giant Plancha XL), cost 36.99 to 139.00 euros in our selection, and mostly go in the dishwasher. It is the teppanyaki principle: a flat heated plate in the middle of the guests. Their limit: a thin plate that holds heat less well when you add a lot of cold food at once.

The outdoor electric griddle

Krampouz, Little Balance, Le Marquier and Forge Adour borrow the codes of their gas planchas: stainless steel or enamelled cast iron plate, metal chassis, 2,000 to 3,200 W, long warranties. Krampouz states IPX4 for its Samba, Little Balance for the Amplitude, and Forge Adour certifies its Modern Electric for indoor and outdoor use. Allow 349.99 to 672.05 euros in our selection, plus a table, side table or griddle cart to set it on; Le Marquier also sells its Original electric as a freestanding griddle, with a cart and lid. A protective cover is still worth having outdoors: these griddles resist splashes, not a winter in the rain. If you would rather have a plate set into the worktop than a freestanding unit, see our built-in griddle page.

Type of electric griddle Best for Plate Strength Limit Prices on 07/10/2026
Tabletop griddle 4 to 12 people, indoors Non-stick Light, dishwasher-safe Thin plate 36.99 to 139.00 euros
Twin zone on a budget 2 dishes at once Microceramic 2 thermostats Two separate plates 76.10 euros
Outdoor stainless Balcony or terrace, 6 to 12 Stainless steel Warranty, IPX4 Price, weight 359.10 to 475.00 euros
Outdoor cast iron Terrace, 8 to 10 Enamelled cast iron Heat retention Price, delivery time 399.00 to 672.05 euros
Plancha and grill combo 8 to 10 people Plancha and grill Two uses Less flat plate 349.99 euros

How to choose an electric griddle

An electric griddle comes down to five criteria: the plate, the wattage, the thermostat, the cooking surface, then cleaning.

The cooking plate: stainless steel, enamelled cast iron, steel or non-stick

The plate material decides how well it sears and how you clean it. Stainless steel fears neither thermal shock nor scratches according to Krampouz, which cleans it with water and a stainless scourer; Little Balance even allows cutting with a knife on the 4 mm plate of the Amplitude. Enamelled cast iron has high thermal inertia: it holds its heat when food goes on, and Le Marquier covers it for life, Forge Adour for 15 years on its Modern. Enamelled steel, common on entry-level gas planchas, appears on no electric griddle in our selection. Simogas offers 6 mm rolled steel and 12 mm hard chrome steel in electric, professional kitchen finishes. Tabletop griddles have an aluminium plate with a non-stick coating (Resist+ at Tefal), or a PFAS-free microceramic coating according to Little Balance for the Dual 2000.

What wattage for an electric griddle?

Wattage should match the surface. In our selection, 1,800 to 2,300 W heat tabletop plates up to about 51 x 26 cm, 2,500 W the 54 x 33 cm Krampouz Samba, and 3,000 to 3,200 W the plates of about 60 x 40 cm on the Amplitude and the Modern 60. A 2,000 W griddle on a large plate takes longer to recover after the meat goes on. Little Balance claims under 15 minutes to reach 300 °C on the Amplitude, with an even temperature across the plate: that is the order of magnitude for an outdoor griddle.

Thermostat and heating zone: one zone or two?

Two heating zones with two thermostats let you sear on one side and keep warm on the other. That is the case on the Krampouz Samba, the Little Balance Amplitude, the Little Balance Dual 2000 and the Riviera & Bar QPL800. The Le Marquier La Petite Française has a single 2,000 W zone, but its thermostat is marked from 50 to 250 °C. On the Tefal models and the Accessimo, the thermostat has positions without degrees: an indicator light or Tefal's Thermo-Spot shows when preheating is done. A thermostat marked in degrees helps you find the right temperature from one meal to the next.

Cooking surface and number of guests

The plate size sets the number of guests. For 2 to 4, the Moulinex Accessimo is enough; for 6 to 8, the Tefal Malaga XL and its 51 x 25.5 cm; for 10 to 12, the Tefal Giant Plancha XL indoors or the Little Balance Amplitude and its 59 x 40 cm outdoors. Long, narrow models, such as the 90 x 23 cm Tristar seen on Amazon, suit a long table but leave little space in front of each guest.

Cleaning: juice tray and removable plate

For easy cleaning, check three things: a removable or dishwasher-safe plate, a grease tray you can reach from the front, and the plate material. On the Moulinex, Tefal, Riviera & Bar and Little Balance Dual, plates and tray go in the dishwasher. Krampouz builds a juice drawer into the front, Little Balance a removable stainless jug on the Amplitude, Forge Adour a 1 l grease tray. To clean stainless steel, water, a stainless scraper and white vinegar are enough according to Little Balance; on a non-stick plate, never use a metal scraper.

Electric plancha and grill: when to choose a combo?

An electric plancha and grill combo makes sense if you cannot choose between grilling and searing: half flat plate, half ridged. The Riviera & Bar QPL800 splits 49 x 39 cm between plancha and grill, with two thermostats set separately from 50 to 250 °C. The grill marks meat and lets fat drain away; the flat plate keeps small pieces, fish and eggs. The limit: less flat plate than a full griddle of the same size. Anyone looking for an electric griddle grill or a table grill will also come across contact grills (H.Koenig, Tefal Optigrill), which press food between two plates: that is not a griddle.

Electric or gas griddle?

Go electric to cook indoors or on a balcony, gas for a large terrace and a fiercer sear. A griddle that runs on both gas and electricity is not in our selection: brands sell two separate versions of the same model, such as the Krampouz Samba in gas (3,000 W) or electric (2,500 W). Butane and propane models are compared on our gas griddle page.

How much does an electric griddle cost?

An electric griddle costs from 36.99 to 672.05 euros in our selection, according to our checks on 07/10/2026. The price follows the plate and outdoor use more than the wattage.

  • Under 50 euros: tabletop griddles for 4 to 8, from the Moulinex Accessimo (36.99 euros) to the Tefal Malaga XL (45.49 euros).
  • 70 to 140 euros: large tabletop griddles and twin-thermostat models, from the Tefal Giant Plancha XL (74.99 euros) to the Tefal Maxi Plancha (139.00 euros), with the Little Balance Dual 2000 (76.10 euros) and the Lagrange Equilibre (83.12 euros).
  • 340 to 480 euros: outdoor stainless or enamelled cast iron griddles and the combo, from the Riviera & Bar QPL800 (349.99 euros) to the Little Balance Amplitude (475.00 euros), with the Krampouz Samba (359.10 euros) and the Le Marquier La Petite Française (399.00 euros).
  • Over 600 euros: the Forge Adour Modern Electric 60 (672.05 euros).

For an electric griddle on sale, promotions mostly come in spring and during the summer sales, before the season of meals on the terrace: a price recorded in October does not hold for June. The price shown on Amazon when you buy is the one that applies.

How we selected these models

I picked 11 electric griddles on sale on Amazon France on 07/10/2026, covering tabletop and outdoor models, every plate material and every table size. For each one, I recorded the price, availability and seller on the Amazon page, then cross-checked wattage, surface, plate, thermostats and number of guests against the manufacturer's page (Krampouz, Little Balance, Le Marquier, Forge Adour, Riviera & Bar, Tefal, Lagrange, Moulinex). A value that could not be found or that conflicted is marked "n.c.". None of these griddles was tested hands-on: the score out of 5 is an editor's review based on the plate, wattage per guest, cleaning and price. The details are on our method page.

The models we left out

  • Krampouz Saveur electric PFSV2AA: the Samba's big sister (64 x 33 cm, 3,200 W according to Amazon) had no price and no offer when we checked on 07/10/2026.
  • Eno 6,300 W cast iron griddle: the only Eno griddle found on Amazon is an imported listing, written in English and rated at 115 V, with shipping within 4 to 5 days. We could not match it to an Eno model sold in France.
  • Simogas: the brand sells electric griddles in rolled steel, ground steel or hard chrome steel (Rainbow, Extreme and Dream ranges), with a 20-year warranty on the plate and elements according to its website, but none was on sale on Amazon when we checked.
  • Campingaz Plancha Electric 1 XD: no seller shown, shipping within 3 to 4 days, and a Campingaz page we could not read to cross-check the announced cast iron plate.
  • Tefal Plancha Booster: the reference sold on Amazon (CB6428) is not the one on Tefal's website (CB641810), and the number of guests varies from 6 to 10 depending on the page.
  • H.Koenig GR20 and GRX330: these are two-plate contact grills, not griddles.
  • Little Balance Aquitaine Pro Plus: close to the Amplitude, with a cooking dome, but no seller shown when we checked.

Frequently asked questions

What are the pros and cons of an electric griddle?

An electric griddle plugs into an ordinary socket, works indoors as well as on a balcony where gas is banned, and is set with a thermostat. The cons: less output than a gas griddle of the same size, so slower heat-up on large models, and a cord to run to the socket. Tabletop models also have a thinner plate, which holds heat less well.

What is the ideal wattage for an electric griddle?

Allow about 2,000 W for a tabletop griddle for 4 to 8 people, 2,500 W for a stainless plate of about 54 x 33 cm, and 3,000 W or more for a 60 x 40 cm plate. That is what the pages from the manufacturers in our selection show. Beyond the figure, two separate thermostats are more useful than a single, more powerful zone.

What is the best outdoor electric griddle in 2026?

In our selection, the Krampouz Samba electric gets the best score for outdoor use: stainless plate with a 10-year warranty, two zones up to 300 °C, IPX4 protection and French manufacturing. For a large table, the Little Balance Amplitude 60-40 offers a 59 x 40 cm stainless plate. For enamelled cast iron, the Le Marquier La Petite Française and the Forge Adour Modern Electric are the two options.

How long does an electric griddle last?

No manufacturer gives a lifespan in years, but warranties give an idea: 10 years on the Krampouz stainless plate, 15 years at Forge Adour, life on Le Marquier's enamelled cast iron, 20 years on plate and elements at Simogas. Tefal announces 15 years of repairability. A non-stick tabletop griddle lasts as long as its coating is not scratched: wooden or silicone spatula only.

What can you cook on an electric griddle?

Anything that sears quickly: thinly sliced meat, skewers, duck breast, fish fillets, shellfish and seafood, sliced vegetables, eggs, and even fruit for dessert. Sear on the hottest zone, then finish on the gentler one. On a stainless plate, deglazing with a dash of vinegar or lemon lifts the cooking juices and helps with cleaning.
