The best raclette grill is the one that heats fast enough for every guest to eat at the same time: it comes down first to watts per pan, then to functions (cooking stone, grill plate, half wheel) and to cleaning. I compared the product pages of seven models for 2 to 10 people, checked their Amazon France price on 7 October 2026 and matched each one to the kind of table it suits, from dinner for two to a big winter evening where meat, cured ham and vegetables cook alongside the cheese. For an overview of the different types, start with our raclette grill page.
This comparison is based on reading product pages, not on hands-on testing: none of these grills has been used by our team, hence the "Editor's review" badge. I looked at 23 references (22 Amazon pages checked, plus the Ricardo, which is not sold on amazon.fr), including those cited by the buying guides that rank best on Google, and kept the 7 that cover each profile with an in-stock offer on 7 October 2026.
For each one, I recorded the price, availability and seller on the Amazon page, then cross-checked the number of pans, the power in watts, the thermostat and cleaning against the manufacturer's page (Severin, Tristar, Princess, Lagrange, Louis Tellier, Little Balance). A value that is missing or contradictory is marked "n.c." (not communicated). Tefal publishes no page for the reference we kept: for it, only the values on which the seller's page agrees with itself are used. We do not use Amazon customer ratings or rankings from other review sites.
The criterion that separates these models most is watts per guest. The table below works it out from the manufacturers' data:
| Model | Guests | Watts | Watts per pan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Severin RG 9645 | 8 | 1,400 | 175 |
| Little Balance Duo 8617 | 2 | 320 | 160 |
| Princess Stone Grill Party 4 | 4 | 600 | 150 |
| Lagrange Pierre Élégance 399012 | 8 | 1,100 | 137.5 |
| Tefal Raclette & Pierrade PR457B12 | 10 | 1,350 | 135 |
| Tristar RA-2998 | 6 | 800 | 133 |
Each model's score out of 5 is an editor's review based on these criteria and on price. The full approach is explained on our method page.
Each model is presented with the profile it suits, its drawback first, then what sets it apart.
Who it's for: a table of 8 who want to melt and grill.
What nobody tells you: according to Severin, nothing is dishwasher safe. Pans, stone and plate are all washed by hand, which adds up at the end of the evening. Severin also lists this model as sold out in its own shop, while Amazon had it in stock when we checked.
What I liked: it is the most powerful grill here at 1,400 watts, or 175 W per pan, the best ratio of the family-size models. The top combines a natural cooking stone for meat with a ridged non-stick grill plate for vegetables, and the adjustable thermostat with indicator light lets you turn the heat down once the stone is hot. For value for money, it is the best raclette machine in this comparison.
Who it's for: a table of 6 on a tight budget.
What nobody tells you: there is no thermostat, just an on/off switch, and the power cord is only 0.8 m long according to Tristar. In the middle of a big table, you will almost certainly need an extension lead.
What I liked: it is a cheap raclette grill that does three things: raclette in 6 pans, grilling on a 29 cm round plate and small pancakes on a dedicated area. At 800 W it sits in the middle of our selection for six, and Tristar lists its parts as dishwasher safe.
Who it's for: a big table of 10.
What nobody tells you: Tefal publishes no page for this reference on its website, so our data comes from the Amazon page only. It is also a large unit, 6.25 kg and 55.3 cm wide according to Amazon, that takes up the middle of the table.
What I liked: 10 non-stick pans, a natural lava stone for stone grilling and 1,350 W, or 135 W per pan. The cord is detachable, the accessories store under the base and the pans are dishwasher safe according to the seller's page.
Who it's for: a table of 8 who want a French-made grill.
What nobody tells you: its price is more than three times that of our top pick, for less power (1,100 W). Its weight also differs between Lagrange (5.93 kg) and Amazon (9.15 kg), so we mark it n.c.
What I liked: it is made in Lagrange's factory near Lyon, with a large 37.5 x 23.5 cm cooking stone, wooden handles, a stainless steel base and a tempered glass pan rest built in under the unit. The 2 m cord is detachable, and Lagrange includes a small cheese knife and a cheese cutter. The stone must never go in the dishwasher: Lagrange recommends a sponge and hot water.
Who it's for: traditional half-wheel raclette.
What nobody tells you: it only melts cheese, and you need to buy a whole half wheel, raclette from Savoie or Valais. Louis Tellier does not state how many people it serves on its page; Amazon says 6 to 10.
What I liked: this is raclette the way it is done in Switzerland or Savoie. The cheese holder keeps the half wheel under a horizontal heating bar that adjusts in height, and you scrape the melted surface straight onto the potatoes. The unit is stainless steel and made in France, at 850 W.
Who it's for: a family of 4.
What nobody tells you: its natural stone measures 21 x 21 cm, small for grilling meat for four at once.
What I liked: it is the only small grill here with an adjustable thermostat, at 600 W, or 150 W per pan. The 4 non-stick pans are dishwasher safe and the stone wipes clean with a cloth, according to Princess. The cord is 1.2 m long.
Who it's for: two people sharing a raclette.
What nobody tells you: at 320 W it is the least powerful grill here, and it only serves two.
What I liked: this mini grill weighs 860 g and fits in any cupboard, with a footprint of 30 x 11.5 cm. Its 2 pans and 30 cm removable grill have a PFAS-free coating and are dishwasher safe according to Little Balance, and it comes with two wooden spatulas and two wooden boards.

A large unit (6.25 kg according to Amazon) that needs table space. | 132.29 euros when we checked, more than three times our top pick, and its weight differs between Lagrange (5.93 kg) and Amazon (9.15 kg). | It only melts cheese, you need to buy a half wheel, and Louis Tellier does not state how many people it serves (6 to 10 on Amazon only). |

Start with the number of guests, then power, cooking type and cleaning: these are the criteria that separate the models in this comparison most.
Count one pan per person. A grill for 2 is enough for a couple, a 4-person model for a small family, and from 6 guests aim for 8 or 10 pans. Be wary of listings that say "up to 10 people": check that all the pans are actually in the box.
Aim for roughly 130 to 175 W per pan: that is the range of the models we kept. In practice, 320 to 400 W for two, 600 to 800 W for four to six, and at least 1,050 W for eight. The higher the ratio, the shorter the wait between two slices of cheese. A grill with a cooking stone needs more, because the stone heats up as well as the pans.
A grill with pans melts one slice per guest, and its top cooks meat, cured ham and vegetables: a natural stone, a non-stick plate or a plancha. A traditional half-wheel melter heats the surface of the cheese, which you scrape onto the plate with a raclette scraper or knife. It is only for cheese, but it gives you traditional mountain raclette.
An adjustable thermostat stops the stone or plate from burning food once it is hot. In our selection, only the RG 9645 and the Princess 4-person grill have one according to their manufacturer; Tristar states that the RA-2998 does not.
Check whether the non-stick pans and the removable plate are dishwasher safe. That is the case for Tristar, Princess (pans only) and Little Balance, but not Severin. A stone never goes in the dishwasher: let it cool and wash it by hand. A detachable cord, as on the Tefal and Lagrange models we kept, also makes storage easier.
Yes for 2 to 6 people: on 7 October 2026 we found the Little Balance Duo at 15.00 euros, the Princess at 23.74 euros and the Tristar at 24.99 euros. For eight, the Severin at 36.99 euros costs only a little more and heats better. French-made and half-wheel models range from 132.29 to 141.49 euros.

Four models often cited by other buying guides are not in our selection:
The price shown on Amazon when you buy is the one that applies.
For most tables, it is the Severin RG 9645: 8 pans, 1,400 W, a natural stone, a ridged grill plate and an adjustable thermostat. For 10 guests, the Tefal Raclette & Pierrade PR457B12 adds two more pans. For traditional raclette, the Louis Tellier Alpage melts a half wheel.
Allow roughly 130 to 175 watts per pan: 320 to 400 W for two, 600 to 800 W for four to six, and at least 1,050 W for eight to ten. Models with a cooking stone need more, because the stone has to heat up at the same time as the pans.
For two, the Little Balance Duo (320 W, 860 g) is the most compact, with dishwasher-safe pans and grill. For four, the Princess Stone Grill Party 4 adds a natural stone and an adjustable thermostat at 600 W. Its 21 x 21 cm stone is still small for grilling for everyone.
A traditional melter suits a meal built around the cheese: you scrape a melted half wheel, as in Savoie or Valais. A multi-function grill with pans lets everyone manage their own portion and also cooks meat and vegetables on a stone or plate. In our selection, every multi-function grill costs less than the traditional one.
No brand wins across the board. Severin offers the best ratio of watts to price for eight, Tefal the large 10-pan models, Lagrange and Louis Tellier French manufacturing. Look at watts per pan, the thermostat and cleaning rather than the logo.
