Dual basket air fryer: 8 two-drawer models compared

By Charles Updated on 22/10/2026 Analysed Editor's review

A dual basket air fryer is an air fryer with two independent cooking zones: two drawers, or one large drawer you split in half. You cook chicken on one side and vegetables or fries on the other, each with its own temperature, mode and time, and the sync function makes both finish together. I picked 8 models on sale on Amazon from Ninja (DualZone, Foodi, Double Stack, FlexDrawer), Philips, Cosori, Moulinex and Instant. I read their manufacturer pages and checked their prices on 22/10/2026; each one has its drawback spelled out.

Black two-drawer air fryer on a light worktop, one drawer open with golden fries and the other with chicken drumsticks and roasted vegetables

Dual basket air fryer: our 3 picks

For most families, go for the Ninja DualZone MAX DZ400EU; for a narrow worktop, the Ninja Double Stack XL; on a tight budget, the Moulinex Easy Fry Dual.

For families: Ninja DualZone MAX DZ400EU (€189.80 on 22/10/2026). Its drawback first: 41.5 cm wide, and no window to check on the food. Otherwise, each of its two independent 4.75 L drawers takes a 2 kg chicken according to Ninja, with a thermostat from 90 to 240 °C, 2,470 W and six modes (Air Fry, Max Crisp, roast, bake, reheat, dehydrate).

For a narrow kitchen: Ninja Double Stack XL SL400EU (€248.85 on 22/10/2026). The catch: 38.5 cm tall and 10.3 kg, so you need room under your wall cabinets. In return, its two 4.75 L drawers are stacked: only 28 cm wide, and four cooking levels with the two racks supplied.

On a budget: Moulinex Easy Fry Dual EZ901820 (€129.99 on 22/10/2026). Drawback: unequal 5.2 L and 3.1 L drawers, 200 °C at most, and a power rating Moulinex does not confirm (1,500 W according to Amazon). It still has the synchronised finish, seven programmes and 15-year repairability announced by Moulinex.

Why choose a two-drawer air fryer?

You pick a two-drawer air fryer to cook a full meal in one go, two recipes at two different settings.

  • The upsides: the main and the side cook at the same time, you save time if you used to cook in two batches, and the synchronised finish (Sync at Ninja, basket synchronisation at Philips) serves everything hot together. You can also fill both drawers with the same food for a big batch of fries. Ninja claims up to 75% less fat than deep frying in Air Fry mode.
  • The downsides: a wider, heavier (7 to 10 kg in our selection) and pricier appliance than a single drawer of the same capacity. Two 4.75 L drawers will not take a joint that would fit in a single 9.5 L drawer: that is the point of models with a removable divider (FlexDrawer, TwinFry, VersaZone).

Single or dual basket air fryer?

Go for a single drawer if you cook for one or two, or if space is tight. Move to two baskets as soon as you cook for three or more, or want to cook meat and vegetables at two temperatures. In between, the splittable single drawer (Ninja FlexDrawer, Cosori TwinFry, Instant VersaZone) divides into two cooking zones with a divider, and turns back into one large basket for a whole chicken. If you prefer a door and a window, look at an air fryer oven instead.

How to choose a dual basket air fryer

Choose a dual basket air fryer on five criteria: drawer layout, power, thermostat, footprint and coating.

Equal drawers, unequal drawers or a splittable drawer

Equal drawers (Ninja DualZone, Double Stack) cook two portions of the same size. Unequal drawers (Philips 6 L and 3 L, Moulinex 5.2 L and 3.1 L) take the main on one side and the side dish on the other. A splittable drawer (FlexDrawer 10.4 L, TwinFry 10 L, VersaZone 8.5 L) lets you decide at each meal.

Power in watts

Allow at least 2,400 W for 9 L and above: that is the case for the Ninja models (2,470 W), the Philips NA350 (2,750 W) and the Cosori TwinFry (2,800 W). The Instant VersaZone has 1,700 W for 8.5 L. More power means heat builds up faster when both drawers run together.

Thermostat and cooking modes

Ninja, Cosori and the FlexDrawer reach 240 °C, useful for a crisp finish. Philips and Moulinex stop at 200 °C, Instant at 205 °C. Check the modes too: roast, bake, grill, reheat and dehydrate come back on almost all of them.

Footprint on the worktop

Measure before you buy: from 28 cm wide (Ninja Double Stack, but 38.5 cm tall) to 51.8 cm (Cosori TwinFry), with 40 to 44 cm for most side-by-side two-drawer models.

Coating and cleaning

The drawers are non-stick and dishwasher-safe on the Ninja models. Cosori announces a PFAS-free ceramic coating on the TwinFry, and Moulinex a PTFE coating on the Easy Fry Dual. For silicone moulds and baking paper, look at air fryer accessories.

How much does a dual basket air fryer cost?

A dual basket air fryer costs from €129.99 to €279.99 in our selection, based on our prices checked on 22/10/2026.

  • Under €150: Moulinex Easy Fry Dual (€129.99) and Instant Vortex Plus VersaZone (€147.39).
  • From €180 to €215: Ninja DualZone DZ400EU (€189.80), Philips NA350 (€195.99), Cosori TwinFry (€209.99) and Ninja Foodi AF400EU (€212.01).
  • Over €240: Ninja Double Stack XL (€248.85) and Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer (€279.99).

The best value of the selection is the DZ400EU: the same 9.5 L and 2,470 W as the AF400EU, for €22 less when we checked. The price shown on Amazon when you buy is the one that applies.

How we picked these models

I selected 8 air fryers with two cooking zones on sale on Amazon on 22/10/2026, covering side-by-side, stacked and unequal drawers as well as the splittable drawer. For each one, I checked the price, availability and seller on the Amazon listing, then cross-checked capacity, power and thermostat against the manufacturer page listed at the bottom of this page. None was tested in a kitchen: these are editor's reviews based on the product pages. The Ninja Foodi Dual Zone AF300EU (7.6 L) had no offer on Amazon when we checked; its own page will follow.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best dual basket air fryer?

In our selection, the Ninja DualZone MAX DZ400EU gets the best rating: two independent 4.75 L drawers, 2,470 W, up to 240 °C and the synchronised finish, at the lowest price of the two-drawer Ninja models in our checks. For a narrow worktop, the Ninja Double Stack XL; on a tight budget, the Moulinex Easy Fry Dual.

Is a two-drawer air fryer worth it?

Yes if you cook for three or more or want to cook the main and the side together: you avoid two batches. For one or two people, a single 4 to 6 L drawer is enough, takes less room and costs less.

Does a dual basket air fryer use more electricity than a standard one?

Its power is higher (2,470 to 2,800 W for most models in our selection), but you can run just one drawer for a small portion. Ninja claims up to 65% energy savings compared with an oven, Moulinex up to 70%, based on their own tests.

Where should you put a dual basket air fryer?

On a stable worktop, leaving space around the appliance for air to circulate. Allow 40 to 52 cm of width depending on the model, or about 30 cm for a stacked model like the Double Stack, which needs height instead.
