A professional waffle maker is a commercial machine built to bake batch after batch in a catering setting: cast iron plates, a sturdy stainless steel body, a thermostat up to 300 °C, a timer and a drip tray. For a few weekend treats, our waffle maker page compares home models. Here I have gathered 11 waffle makers sold on Amazon France, from Krampouz, Casselin, Sofraca and Roller Grill to Bartscher, HENDI and Royal Catering, plus one semi-professional Krups. I read each manufacturer's page, recorded prices on 07/10/2026 and wrote down the drawback of each one.

Professional waffle maker: our 3 picks
For heavy use, go for the Krampouz 4x6; for Liège waffles, the Roller Grill GES 20; on a small budget, the Royal Catering RCWM-2000-E.
Heavy use: Krampouz 4x6 Brussels 180° single L/R (1,104.90 euros on 07/10/2026). Its drawback first: it was sold by a third-party seller with a single unit in stock when I checked. Otherwise, this is the format Krampouz describes as the most common: two waffles on bare cast iron plates, 1,800 W, a 50 to 300 °C thermostat, made in France, with the Pack Résistance system Krampouz credits with even heat distribution and the Easy Clean system that lets you remove the plates to wash them.
Liège waffles: Roller Grill GES 20 (1,190.95 euros on 07/10/2026). It is the most expensive of the eleven, and its Amazon listing gets the power wrong (1,000 W in the table, 1.6 kW from the manufacturer). In return, its cast iron plates brown two Liège waffles in 3 minutes at 230 °C, or 60 waffles an hour according to the brand, without flipping the machine.
Small budget: Royal Catering RCWM-2000-E (148.00 euros on 07/10/2026). The catch: its plates are enamelled cast iron with a non-stick coating, not bare cast iron. It bakes two 17 x 10 cm waffles on 2,000 W, with a 50 to 300 °C thermostat and a 15-minute timer that beeps at the end.

Why choose a commercial waffle maker?
A commercial waffle maker is catering equipment: you buy it for output, consistency and sturdiness, which Krampouz lists alongside power and reliability, not for the price. Its cast iron holds heat from one batch to the next, its thermostat reaches 300 °C on most of the models I checked, and its stainless steel body handles heavy use in a bakery, brasserie, tea room, snack bar, food truck or fairground stand. Casselin also aims its CG180S at restaurants and takeaway.
- Pros: identical waffles all day, output figures from some manufacturers (60 Liège waffles an hour for the GES 20), removable plates on the Krampouz models, and spare parts that Krampouz keeps available for 15 years.
- Cons: the price (148.00 to 1,190.95 euros across the eleven), the weight (up to 35.2 kg for the double RCWM-4000-E), around 30 minutes of preheating according to Roller Grill, and bare cast iron that needs seasoning.
The price shown on Amazon when you buy is the one that applies.
At home, a semi-professional model is often enough: the Krups FDD95D, sold as a "professional rotating waffle maker", bakes two thick waffles on 1,200 W for 119.99 euros on 07/10/2026, with dishwasher-safe plates. For waffles and toasted sandwiches at dinner, our toastie maker page covers machines with interchangeable plates.
Stainless steel waffle maker or cast iron: what are commercial models made of?
Nearly all of them pair a stainless steel body with cast iron plates; what sets them apart is the type of cast iron. A "stainless steel waffle maker" therefore describes the housing, not the cooking surface.
| Plate material | Models | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| Bare cast iron, no coating | Krampouz 4x6 and 4x7, Roller Grill GES 20 | High thermal inertia, needs seasoning with oil |
| Cast steel | Casselin CG180S | Stores heat, no coating stated |
| Enamelled cast iron | HENDI 212103, RCWM-2000-E and RCWM-4000-E | Easier cleaning, non-stick on the Royal Catering models |
| Cast or coated aluminium | Sofraca 19242, Bartscher MDI 1BW-AL and Deluxe | Lighter (9.4 to 10.5 kg), less heat inertia |
Roller Grill explains that bare cast iron stores and releases heat better than cast aluminium or stainless steel. Krampouz chooses it "for its thermal inertia and longevity" and adds its Pack Résistance system to spread heat across the whole plate. The Sofraca Express 19242 has one heating element in the top iron and one in the bottom iron to cook both sides at once. The trade-off is maintenance: cast iron is porous and sticks unless it is seasoned.
How to choose a professional waffle maker
Look at the grid pattern first, then the opening and number of stations, the power and electrical supply, and finally maintenance.
Brussels or Liège waffles: the grid pattern
The grid decides what you will serve. A Brussels waffle is rectangular, made from a runny batter, crisp outside with a soft centre according to Bacchus Équipements, and its pockets are counted in squares: 3x5, 4x6 or 4x7 at Krampouz, with 4x6 being the most common format according to the brand. A Liège waffle is baked from a dough ball with pearl sugar, thicker and with irregular edges. Each grid must match the batter: Krampouz sells the same waffle maker in a Brussels (4x6) and a Liège (4x7) version. The Bartscher models in this selection bake Brussels waffles, the Royal Catering models rectangular Belgian waffles, and the HENDI and Roller Grill models Liège waffles. Other grids exist for waffles on a stick, cones or bubble waffles (Hong Kong egg waffles), at Krampouz as well as HENDI. Roller Grill notes that the bubble waffle, with its thinner batter, is the only one of its waffles for which you need to flip the machine during baking.
Single, double, swinging or rotating: opening and capacity
A single waffle maker bakes one or two waffles; a double bakes twice as many with two thermostats. Bacchus Équipements recommends a double when waffles are your main business. The opening matters too:
- 90°: the top plate opens like a book, for frozen waffles and small volumes according to Bacchus Équipements.
- 180°, swinging: the swing motion spreads fresh batter over both sides, as on the Krampouz models (in left-right L/R or front-back versions) and the Casselin CG180S.
- Rotating or reversible: the unit turns on its axis, like the Bartscher Deluxe, which bakes a round waffle, or the Krups. Bacchus Équipements recommends rotating models for high-output venues. Sofraca calls its gas fairground waffle makers "reversible".
The GES 20, for its part, heats enough from above and below to bake without being flipped.
Power and 230 V supply
Power ranges from 1,000 W (Bartscher Deluxe) to 2,000 W (RCWM-2000-E) on the single models, and all of them run on standard 230 V single-phase power. Doubles need more: 3,600 W for the Krampouz 4x6 double and the Casselin CG180D, close to 16 A on a single socket. Have an electrician check that your circuit can take it before ordering a double. As for size, widths range from 26 cm for the Bartscher Deluxe to 62.5 cm for the RCWM-4000-E according to their manufacturers.
Electric or gas fairground waffle maker
An electric waffle maker is set by thermostat and plugs in wherever there is a socket; every model on this page is electric. A gas fairground waffle maker, from Sofraca for example, heats up faster according to Bacchus Équipements, but needs a gas bottle or mains gas and is better suited to outdoor use at markets and fairs.
Preheating, cleaning and seasoning
Before the first batch, bare cast iron plates need seasoning: Roller Grill advises removing the protective grease, oiling the plates with cooking oil and letting the closed machine heat for half an hour at maximum temperature. During service, Roller Grill suggests turning the thermostat down slightly, or changing the baking time, if the waffle comes out dry or sticks. Waffles are lifted out with a waffle pick or fork (supplied with the HENDI), and batter residue in the grid is removed with a wire brush or a pastry brush according to Roller Grill. For a full clean, Bacchus Équipements recommends warm soapy water and a soft brush, never an abrasive sponge. Krampouz plates come off and go in the dishwasher, then need seasoning again. The drip tray, fitted on almost every model, catches excess batter. To clean safely, switch off and unplug first. In daily use, an on/off switch (MDI 1BW-AL, CG180S) saves plugging and unplugging, the insulated handle (HENDI) protects your hand, and the heating light tells you when the plate is ready.
Best professional waffle maker: the 11 models at a glance
Here is each product in our selection, with the drawback we hold against it. The best balance between price and features goes to the RCWM-2000-E; bare cast iron, which Krampouz chooses for its longevity, comes on the Krampouz models and the GES 20.

How we selected these models
I picked 11 waffle makers sold on Amazon France on 07/10/2026, from commercial to semi-professional equipment. For each one, I recorded the price, availability and seller on the Amazon page, then cross-checked power, plates, thermostat, number of waffles and weight against the manufacturer's page (Krampouz, Roller Grill, Casselin, Sofraca, HENDI, Bartscher, Royal Catering). Where the two disagree, the manufacturer's page prevails and the gap is noted in the drawback; a missing value is marked "n.c." (not communicated). Most of these models are sold on Amazon by catering equipment dealers, sometimes with limited stock. None of them has been tested hands-on: the score out of 5 is an editor's review based on this data, maintenance and price. The full approach is on our method page.
The models we left out
- Casselin CG180D (double): listed on Amazon, but with no price or offer when checked on 07/10/2026.
- HENDI Brussels electric waffle maker 212127: 306.06 euros when checked, but "usually dispatched within 6 to 7 months".
- Sofraca single gas waffle maker 4x6 Liège: 1,842.75 euros when checked, a gas model for outdoor use, outside the scope of this page.
- VEVOR 2000 W commercial waffle maker: 105.90 euros when checked, but I could not cross-check its Amazon listing against a manufacturer page.
- Tefal King Size WM756D: 97.99 euros when checked, a semi-professional rotating model with a handle, already covered on our waffle maker page.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best professional waffle maker?
There is no single best one: it depends on the waffle you serve and your output. For Brussels waffles all day, the Krampouz 4x6 combines bare cast iron, a thermostat up to 300 °C and removable plates. For Liège waffles, the GES 20 is rated at 60 waffles an hour. To get started, the RCWM-2000-E is the cheapest in the selection.
Which waffle maker is the most powerful?
Here, the RCWM-4000-E is the most powerful, with two 2,000 W stations. Among single models, the RCWM-2000-E reaches 2,000 W, ahead of the Krampouz models, the CG180S, the Express 19242 and the MDI 1BW-AL at 1,800 W. The Krampouz and Casselin doubles go up to 3,600 W on 230 V.
What power does a professional waffle maker need?
The models here that bake two waffles on cast iron range from 1,500 W (HENDI 212103) to 2,000 W (RCWM-2000-E), most of them at 1,800 W. Bacchus Équipements advises more than 900 W for Brussels waffles, but heavy use calls for more to keep the plate hot between batches.
What is the difference between a Liège and a Brussels waffle?
A Brussels waffle is rectangular and light, baked from a runny batter poured onto a grid of squares (3x5, 4x6 or 4x7). A Liège waffle is baked from a dough ball with pearl sugar: it is denser, softer, caramelised and has irregular edges. Each needs its own grid.
How do you season a cast iron waffle maker?
First remove the protective grease with detergent, oil the plates with cooking oil, then let the closed waffle maker heat for half an hour at maximum temperature, as Roller Grill advises. Oil lightly again before the first waffles, ideally with a spray rather than a brush: Roller Grill points out that cast iron is porous and that seasoning lets waffles release without sticking. Repeat after every wash of the plates.
