A multifunction food processor comes down first to what you want it to do: slice and shred vegetables, chop meat or herbs, blend a soup, knead pizza dough, whisk egg whites or squeeze oranges. Then come the bowl size, the attachments included and the free space on your worktop. I compared 15 Magimix, Moulinex, Bosch, Kenwood, KitchenAid, Philips and Ninja models sold on Amazon France, from a 30 cm mini processor to the three-bowl Magimix, reading each manufacturer's page and checking prices on 07/10/2026. These kitchen machines prepare food without cooking it, and each one has its drawback spelled out.

Our food processor comparison for 2026
The detailed comparison will pick the best models for each profile: a family who cook every day, a small kitchen, a tight budget. You will find it on our best food processor page, with a summary table and a review of each machine. This page first helps you choose the right type of appliance before comparing models.
Which type of food processor should you choose?
There are four main families of food processor without heating: the single-bowl model, the multi-bowl model, the model with a blender and a second motor outlet, and the mini chopper. All of them are food preparation machines: they cut, grate and mix, but do not cook. The stand mixer and the cooking food processor are two other appliances, covered further down. The table at the end of this section sums up the four families.
The single-bowl food processor
This is the best-selling format: a motor block, a 2 to 2.3 litre bowl, an S-blade for chopping and blending, and one or two discs for slicing and grating. The Bosch MultiTalent 3 MCM3100W (2.3 L bowl, 800 W according to Bosch), the Kenwood MultiPro Compact, the Philips HR7530/10, the Ninja PrecisionPro and the 2.1 L KitchenAid belong to this family. Its strength: it fits in a cupboard and comes out quickly for a carrot salad or a pesto. Its limit: a 2.1 L bowl only takes 1.2 to 1.5 L usable according to Kenwood and Philips, just enough for a family soup.
The multi-bowl food processor
This model nests three bowls on the same base: a large bowl for kneading and blending, a midi bowl for grating, a mini bowl for garlic and herbs. It is the Magimix signature: the CS 3200 XL combines a 2.6 L bowl, a 2.2 L midi bowl and a 1.2 L mini bowl according to Magimix, with an induction motor made in France and guaranteed for 30 years. You can make a dough, then grate vegetables, without washing up in between. The limit: the price, the highest in our selection, and a heavier appliance (6.7 kg for the 3200 XL according to Magimix).
The food processor with a blender and a second motor outlet
Some appliances add a blender, either on a second motor outlet or in place of the bowl. The Moulinex Double Force (1,000 W, 3 L bowl and 2 L blender according to Moulinex), the Double Force Compact, the Kenwood MultiPro Express and the Bosch MultiTalent 8 work this way. You blend a smoothie or a cold soup on one side and grate cheese on the other, without buying a second appliance. The limit: more parts to store. If you only make soups and smoothies, a blender on its own is enough.
The mini food processor and the chopper
The mini food processor is aimed at small kitchens and small quantities. The Kenwood MultiPro Go stands 30 cm tall and keeps a 1.3 L bowl, with 0.75 L usable according to Kenwood, and an Express Serve lid that grates straight into the salad bowl. It chops, slices and grates for two to three people. To chop only meat, onions or herbs, an electric chopper, from Moulinex for example, costs less than a full food processor. These entry-level models will be gathered on our cheap food processor page.
Food processor for baking: kneading, beating and whisking
Most of these appliances knead bread or pizza dough, beat cake batter, whisk egg whites or mix pancake batter, using a dough blade, a kneading tool, a beater or a whisk. But kneading is limited by the bowl: 0.8 kg of cake batter at most for the Bosch MultiTalent 3, 1.5 kg for the MultiTalent 8 according to Bosch. For brioche or bread every week, a stand mixer with planetary action and a large bowl does a better job. A food processor that bakes remains a good compromise if baking is only one use among others.
Cooking food processor: Thermomix, Cookeo, Monsieur Cuisine
A cooking food processor adds a heated bowl to the blender-processor: it chops, mixes, then simmers or steams at the chosen temperature, often with an automatic programme. The Vorwerk Thermomix, Lidl's Monsieur Cuisine, the Moulinex Companion or the Magimix Cook Expert are examples; the Moulinex Cookeo is rather a multicooker, which cooks without chopping. None of the 15 models on this page heats. If you want one appliance to prepare and cook the meal, see our cooking food processor page.
Which food processor brand should you choose?
The seven brands in our selection take different approaches. Magimix relies on three bowls, French manufacturing and a motor guaranteed for 30 years. Moulinex covers the entry and mid range, with a 15-year repairability commitment. Bosch stands out with light, well-equipped MultiTalent models for their price. Kenwood ranges from the MultiPro Go to the MultiPro Express with blender and citrus press. KitchenAid focuses on precise cutting (ExactSlice disc with 6 thicknesses on the 3.1 L), Philips on a well-equipped 2.1 L bowl, and Ninja on automatic programmes.

How to choose a food processor
A food processor comes down to five criteria: bowl volume, wattage (to read with care), attachments included, footprint and cleaning.
Bowl volume, and above all usable capacity
The bowl ranges from 1.3 L (Kenwood MultiPro Go) to 3.9 L (Bosch MultiTalent 8) across our 15 models. Look at the usable capacity instead, when the manufacturer gives it: 1 L for the Magimix CS 3200 XL, 1.2 L for the Kenwood MultiPro Compact, 1.5 L for the HR7530/10, 1.9 L for the Ninja PrecisionPro. For one or two people, a 2 L bowl is enough; for a family who make soups and purées, aim for 3 L or more.
Wattage, a figure to read with care
The appliances compared here are rated from 250 to 1,250 W, but this figure compares poorly from one brand to another. The Magimix CS 3200 XL is rated at 650 W by Magimix against 300 W on its Amazon page; the 3.1 L KitchenAid shows 300 W in one table on the KitchenAid site and 400 W in another. An induction motor like the one in Magimix machines lasts a long time with modest rated power. Between two models from the same brand, more watts generally go with a bigger bowl.
Blades, knife and attachments included
All the models we kept have a knife for chopping and blending and at least one reversible disc for slicing and grating. The best equipped add a citrus press (Philips, Bosch MultiTalent 8, Kenwood MultiPro Compact, Moulinex Double Force), a whisk for egg whites and whipped cream, a kneading tool or dough blade, a chip disc, a dicing kit (3.1 L KitchenAid) or a spice grinder. Count the cutting attachments rather than the number of « functions » advertised, which varies from 25 to 50 depending on the brand: versatility comes down to the discs actually in the box. An attachment sold as an option is often expensive: check what is in the box.
Footprint and storage
An appliance that stays on the worktop gets used more often. Measure the height under your wall cabinets: 30 cm for the Kenwood MultiPro Go, 37.5 cm for the Bosch MultiTalent 3, 39.6 cm for the Magimix CS 3200 XL, 46.4 cm for the 3.1 L KitchenAid according to the manufacturers. Models that store their attachments in the bowl (HR7530/10, KitchenAid, Moulinex Easy Force) or in a box (Magimix) avoid a cluttered drawer.
Cleaning, warranty and repairability
Bowl, blades and discs go in the dishwasher on almost every model, but not always the blender: Kenwood asks you to wash the MultiPro Compact's blender by hand. As for lifespan, Magimix guarantees the motor for 30 years and parts for 3 years, with spare parts available for 30 years; Moulinex claims 15 years of repairability; Kenwood, spare parts for 10 years on the MultiPro Compact. Finally, the French legal guarantee of conformity covers defects that appear within 2 years of delivery, according to Service-Public.fr, whatever the brand.
What budget for a food processor?
A multifunction food processor costs from 52.48 to 421.00 euros according to our checks on 07/10/2026. The price follows the number of bowls, the build and the motor guarantee more than the wattage.
- Under 80 euros: Bosch MultiTalent 3 (52.48 euros), Kenwood MultiPro Go (54.05 euros), Moulinex Easy Force (69.99 euros) and Kenwood MultiPro Compact (75.98 euros). One bowl, two speeds, the essential discs.
- From 100 to 180 euros: Moulinex Double Force Compact (99.99 euros), Moulinex Double Force (119.95 euros), Ninja PrecisionPro (119.99 euros), Kenwood MultiPro Express (158.35 euros), Philips HR7530/10 (174.43 euros), Bosch MultiTalent 8 (177.71 euros) and the 2.1 L KitchenAid (180.90 euros). Blender or citrus press included, a bigger bowl.
- From 290 to 425 euros: the 3.1 L KitchenAid (296.12 euros) and the three Magimix models, CS 3200 XL (350.00 euros), CS 4200 XL (389.99 euros) and CS 5200 XL (421.00 euros).
The three Magimix models are sold on Amazon by third-party sellers, not by Amazon: check the seller before you buy. Value for money is judged over time: a motor guaranteed for 30 years pays back a high starting price.

How we selected these models
I picked 15 food processors available on 07/10/2026, covering the seven brands most present on Amazon, at every budget. For each one, I recorded the price, availability and seller on the Amazon France page, then cross-checked power, bowl volume, speeds, attachments, weight and cleaning against the manufacturer's page; a value that is missing or contradictory is marked « n.c. ». Four models have no French manufacturer page under their name (Kenwood MultiPro Express FDP65.590SI, blue Moulinex Easy Force, Double Force Compact FP546811 and Double Force FP825E10): I say so in their drawback. None has been tested hands-on: the score out of 5 is an editor's review based on usable capacity, attachments, clarity of the product pages, warranty and price. The details are explained on our method page. To complete your kitchen, our baking tools follow the same method.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best multifunction food processor?
No model wins for every profile. For a family who cook every day, a three-bowl Magimix or the Bosch MultiTalent 8 (3.9 L bowl) covers everything; for a small kitchen, the Kenwood MultiPro Go or the Bosch MultiTalent 3 is enough. The right choice depends on the quantities you prepare, the discs you need and your budget.
What is the difference between a food processor and a Thermomix?
The Vorwerk Thermomix is a cooking food processor: its bowl heats, it can weigh ingredients and follow guided recipes, chopping then cooking in the same bowl. A food processor prepares without heating: it slices, grates, chops, blends and kneads, and the cooking is then done in a pan or in the oven. It costs much less and offers more cutting discs.
Food processor or blender: which should you choose?
A blender is made for liquids: soups, smoothies, crushed ice. A food processor slices, grates, chops and kneads thanks to its discs and its S-blade, which a blender cannot do. If you are torn, several models on this page, such as the Moulinex Double Force or the Kenwood MultiPro Compact, come with a blender.
Can a food processor replace a stand mixer?
Only partly. A food processor kneads pizza dough and whisks egg whites, but in small quantities: 0.8 to 1.5 kg of cake batter at Bosch. For bread, brioche or large weekly batches, a stand mixer with a large bowl and planetary action remains better suited.
What are the advantages of a small food processor?
A small food processor takes up little space, comes out and goes away in seconds, and costs less: the Kenwood MultiPro Go is only 30 cm tall. It suits one to three people. Its limit is usable capacity, often under 1.5 litres, too tight for a big family soup.
